Alleged suspension: Ganduje breaks silence, accuses NNPP of plotting to destroy APC

The embattled National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has broken his silence over his purported suspension by the party leaders in Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government.

According to him, his alleged suspension is a calculated ploy by the New Nigeria People Party, (NNPP) to destroy the APC, which he said had rather made the party intact and solid.

Dr. Ganduje made this claim on Wednesday when the party’s executive committees at ward and local government levels paid him a solidarity visit at the National Secretariat in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the ward and local government EXCOs disassociated themselves from the purported suspension of the national chairman, calling for the prosecution of the perpetrators.

Some executive committee members who spoke in Hausa said those involved in the heinous act are not members of APC.

Dr. Ganduje said NNPP and the government of kano State is infiltrating into APC in order to destroy it.

“When we heard the news, we knew it was not true. But we had to exercise patience to see how things would unfold.

“And after a fair investigation it was found that those who met were the officials of the Kano State government and their executive members of either the ward or the local government. And they are not even members of our political party.

“What’s happening is an invasion into our political party by the NNPP and the government of Kano State in order to destroy our party because they are so concerned about their failure in office”.

He assured Mr President that APC in Kano State is intact, solid and battle ready to keep his votes very high come 2027.

Briefing journalists thereafter, the National Legal Adviser of APC, Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, said the purported suspension of Ganduje was a fraud.

Prof. Kana stated that the perpetrators have also taken the fraudulent document to the court to obtain a court order.

“We are also hearing this afternoon, though we have not seen a court order, that the same fraudulent document was taken to court to obtain an order of the court.

“Whatever kind of order that emanates from such a document will also be an order obtained by fraud.

“And all of us know, even a 100 level law student will tell you that an order of court obtained by fraud is an unlawful order and will not be enforceable, recognised and respected”.

He maintained that the individuals who are behind the purported suspension are not APC members, saying, “they are not members of the Exco of Ganduje Ward or any APC Exco of any ward for that matter. We don’t know them and that remains our position”.
