As the party primaries for the forthcoming Governorship election in Anambra State is gathering momentum, Former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Auditor and Pro-Chancellor of Olivia University in Bujumbura, Burundi, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has joined the race to occupy the Government House in the state.
To this end, Sir Chukwuma purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Friday.
Addressing journalists at the party’s media centre, the Director-General of Sir Paul Primary Election Campaign Council, Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezi, who picked the forms on behalf of the aspirant, said the people of Anambra State and party critical stakeholders are behind Sir Chukwuma’s aspiration.
Hon. Ibezi said having purchased the nomination form, Sir Paul Chukwuma is already prepared to contest for the office of the governor.
Unveiling Sir Chukwuma’s agenda for the people of the state, the DG stated: “He has his agenda, a very concise agenda and it’s going to be a three-cardinal-point agenda. And when you compress it together, we tag it ‘HIS’.
“HIS means Human Capital Developments, Infrastructural Developments and Security. These are the three major reasons why he decided to contest for the Governorship position.
“There are other enablers in these three core cardinal points and I believe by the time we conclude our primary elections, he would have the privilege to launch his manifestos and begin the process of addressing the people of Anambra State on his core mission to become the governor of the state”.
Speaking on the political track records and pedigrees of the Ihiala-born politician, Hon. Ibezi said Sir Paul Chukwuma is a founding member of APC, not only in Anambra State but in the South East Region and Nigeria in general.
“He was one time the Zonal Youth Leader of APC in the South East. And also the former National Auditor of our great party. So, he’s one of us and one of you in the party here.
“Sir Paul Chukwuma is a party man. He has done so much for this party. The party, being the purpose-vehicle upon which he will ride on to achieve his ambition and also give victory to it.
“He started by putting every effort in place to ensure this purpose vehicle is put to use, and he did that by paying for all the 326 ward offices, 21 local government offices and giving a brand new office to the state which is strategically located close to the Government House.
The DG noted that the strategic position of the APC office is an indication that the party is prepared to take over Anambra State come November 8th 2025.
In his concluding remarks, Hon. Ibezi said, “Sir Paul Chukwuma’s major concern is to bring victory and win the election for our party”.
