Ododo won with 446,237 votes, defeating his closest rival, Ajaka, who scored 259,052, while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 46,362 votes.
Following the announcement, Senator Melaye retorted that he was not going to court, saying he has lost confidence in the judiciary.
Alhaji Ajaka who earlier had the same stand with Melaye later changed his mind and approached the court.
Ever since, the Confluence State has been enmeshed with a series of violence ranging from the attack on the Resident Electoral Commissioner REC to the Secretary of the Election Tribunal in the state.
Concerned about this ugly development, the APC, through its National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka blamed the opposition parties and their candidates for the violence that’s rocking the state.
Barr. Morka who briefed the press at party secretariat on Thursday in Abuja, said the unbecoming conducts of leading opposition candidates has robbed Kogi of its relative peace.
He advised the Melaye and Ajaka to go to court if not satisfied with the outcome of the election as announced by INEC, stressing that post elections matters are determined by the courts, instead of resorting to violence.
The APC spokesperson said the states where the party had lost elections like Delta, Bayelsa etc, they had not resorted to instigating violence in those states, saying the unbecoming conduct of the opposition parties is beginning to create a state of anarchy in Kogi.
Barr. Morka reiterated the party’s call on the security agencies to arrest, investigate, and bring to book the perpetrators of violence in Kogi state.
