Arsenal 2-0 Man United: Roy Keane describes Marcus Rashford’ play as shocking

Roy Keane tore into Marcus Rashford on Wednesday night as he said the Manchester United forward's 'general play as a footballer is shocking'.

United lost 2-0 at Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday thanks to second-half goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.

Rashford began the game on the bench before entering the action as a substitute in the 58th minute. The 26-year-old touched the ball 22 times during his cameo but he failed to produce any shots or key passes.

Former United captain Keane watched the game alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright. The quartet were hosting a YouTube watch-along for The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet.

Neville and Keane were naturally hoping for a United win, with Arsenal legend Ian Wright cheering on his former side.

Meanwhile, Liverpool icon Carragher forced fans to do a double-take by wearing a retro United shirt – because he wanted Arsenal to drop points in the title race.

During the second half, Keane fumed: ‘I tell you what, Rashford has come on, his general play as a footballer is shocking. Watch his header there.’

Reacting to Keane’s comment, Carragher appeared to mutter ‘MailOnline’ – seemingly to suggest that this publication would likely be interested in what had just been said.

United then kicked the ball out of play and Keane exploded: ‘You know what that is, rubbish! That is f***ing rubbish… kicks it out of play.’

Rashford had also needlessly given away the corner which culminated in Arsenal’s second goal and Neville later hit out at United for conceding from a simple set-piece.

‘That can’t happen,’ said Neville. ‘It’s a looped corner. You do scratch your head, you’re there as a coach and spend hours going through these corners.’

On the overall result, Keane concluded: ‘United deserve that. One shot on target.’

United actually ended the game having registered two shots on target – four fewer than the Gunners.
