Arsenal 3-2 Tottenham: Fan’s ‘amazing’ new Kai Havertz chant goes viral

Arsenal fans on social media have approved of the hilarious new chant put forward by a supporter in honour of Gunners star Kai Havertz.

MailOnline reports that the 24-year-old added a man of the match award in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Tottenham to his impressive recent resume at the Emirates, following a slow start after his arrival from Chelsea.

Havertz has remarkably bounced back from the derision and mockery of fans and pundits to become one of the key members of Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing squad.

The German’s 12th Premier League goal of the season ensured the Gunners remained top of the league for another week.

And his latest display has even motivated the creation of a new chant by one supporter to the tune of Afroman’s iconic 2000 hit ‘Because I Got High’.

The lyrics by comedian actor Johnny Cochrane began: ‘We finished runners-up but then we got Kai. Now we’re back on the up because we’ve got Kai.

Fellow supporters reacted in delight to the clip of the rendition on X, formerly Twitter, with one saying: ‘Imagine the half the crowd doing the lyrics and the other half doing the “ooooo ooooo” and the “lada da da dada da” in between. Amazing.’

‘Another posted a series of emojis including a applause and a laughing face, while a third commented: ‘superb.’

Arsenal’s win on Sunday took them four points clear of Manchester City before the defending champions’ win at the City Ground against reduced the gap only one.

Arteta’s side had raced into a three-goal lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Havertz and an own goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Havertz’s strike was his ninth in his last 10 outings and it proved to be the winner, as Ange Postecoglou’s side threatened to claim an unlikely point following replies from Christian Romero and Son Heung-min.
