Atletico Madrid 3-1 Real Madrid: Alvaro Morata scores twice as host wins Madrid derby

The lights went out on Jude Bellingham’s brilliant start at Real Madrid as Atletico won the Spanish capital derby 3-1.

Alvaro Morata scored twice either side of a goal from Antoine Griezmann and Carlo Ancelotti’s side could muster nothing more than a goal from distance from Toni Kroos, MailOnline reports.

Bellingham was out on the pitch, stood alone in the centre-circle, no sooner had he climbed off the visiting Madrid team bus. This was his first derby and one he wanted to savour.

But 18 minutes in Ancelotti’s plan of playing him as a second striker was in bits as Atletico went 2-0 up.

First Morata headed in Samu Lino’s cross and then Griezmann did likewise from Saul’s assist.
