Benue group visits Sen. Abba Moro, seek collaboration in championing initiatives

A group of eminent personalities from Benue Zone C axis, under the aegis of Benue Rebirth Movement (BRM), on Thursday made a courtesy call on the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro, in his National Assembly office.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the National Coordinator, AVM Monday Morgan (Rtd), congratulated the Senator on his well-deserved elevation to the enviable position of the Senate Minority Leader, and his recent attainment of the highest academic laurel of PhD from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).

AVM Morgan expressed the sincere gratitude of BRM to the Senator for his unwavering support and commitment to the group’s causes over the years.

He noted that their visit was also to seek the Senator’s collaboration and leadership in spearheading the initiatives of BRM, specifically calling on him to lead the people of Zone C in the ongoing constitutional amendment exercise with a view to addressing some of the agitations of the group.

The National Coordinator sought the continuous backing and guidance of the Senate Minority Leader, as the political leader of the zone, for the actualization of the group’s shared vision of a prosperous and transformed Benue South.

On the insecurity plaguing parts of Zone C, AVM Morgan thanked Sen. Moro for his prompt interventions so far in alleviating the suffering of the displaced persons, while stressing the need for federal interventions to end the killings in the district.

In his response, Senator Moro, while thanking the group for identifying with him, said he would ensure that whatever is due to Benue South Senatorial District will get to them.

The Minority Leader said he would continue to provide quality leadership and the needed representation that will be for the good of Benue South, Benue State and Nigeria at large.

Francis Eche Ijiga.
