‘I can’t believe this is happening in America’: Trump posts on Truth Social just before being placed under arrest.
Former President Donald Trump expressed disbelief in the moments before walked into New York Criminal Court Tuesday afternoon to be arrested over his role in the Stormy Daniels hush-money probe.
Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL – WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America. MAGA!’ Trump posted to his Truth Social network as he drove from Trump Tower to the lower Manhattan courthouse.
Trump departed Trump Tower, where he had spent most of the day in his 26th floor office, and gave a fist bump before getting in his motorcade to make the drive to court.
Once he entered the building, he was officially under arrest. He’ll go through a booking process before standing in front of a judge.
Trump was indicted Thursday by a Manhattan grand jury but the charges have remained under seal.
