MHF partners MWAN to organise school health programs
Maden Healthcare Foundation (MHF), in collaboration with the National Outreach Committee of the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN), tagged the month of November "School Health Program Month", with the aim of organising school health programs across various states in the country.
The School Health Program Month was kicked off by the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Benue State Chapter, who organised an outreach in collaboration with the MWAN-National Outreach Committee, Maden Healthcare Foundation, and Good Nigerian Foundation on the 8th of November, 2024, at the Aper Aku stadium and Good News Chapel, Benue State University, Makurdi.
The Outreach was organised on the theme: ‘A healthier school today: a prosperous nation tomorrow’.
Over 1000 secondary school students from over 20 secondary and primary schools in Benue State were sensitized on hygiene awareness, enemies of teenagers, and sexual health with them also participating in various exciting competitions such as spelling Bees, debates, artistic skills, and fashion parades.
In addition, the participants were given antihelmintics (deworming medication); as well as several gift items presented to the winners of the various competitions.
