Mother throws herself in front of car to save her 11-month-old daughter

A 'drink-driving' scaffolder accused of ploughing into a mother as she pushed her baby daughter's pram out of the way has been pictured.

Dale Clark, 38, was charged after police traced a Toyota SUV car that was involved in a crash which sent Becky Sharp, 34, flying through the air and left her fighting for her life with severe head injuries.

But Mrs Sharp managed to save her 11-month-old daughter Lorena as she pushed her pram out of the way just in time. Lorena is now being looked after by her husband Dan with their two daughters aged five and eleven.

Clark, who is thought to be the father of two, appeared in court earlier this week at Poole Magistrates’ Court accused of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to stop after a collision.

He entered no plea when he made a brief appearance in court on Thursday and his bail application was refused.

Clark was remanded into custody until his next appearance at Bournemouth Crown Courton May 11.

Clark, who kept his head bowed for most of the hearing, has been living with his grandparents in New Milton, Hampshire, and they declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.
