Swearing-In: Spark News CEO, Prevail congratulates Gov Monday Okpebholo
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Spark Media & Entertainment Ventures, the publisher of Spark News Daily, Inegbenose Prevail, has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo on the occasion of his swearing-in as the governor of Edo State.
Recall that Senator Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, to emerge winner of the September 21st governorship election in the state.
The Senator’s landmark victory ended the reign of PDP and former governor Godwin Obaseki’s control of the state’s resources and political power.
History was made today being 12th November, 2024 as Senator Okpebholo took the Oath of Office, becoming the first governor from the Central District of the state after 45 years.
Late Ambrose Alli, who hailed from Ekpoma, Esan West local government area of Edo State was the first executive governor of the then Bendel State (Edo/Delta) in 1979, following a well-deserved victory in the gubernatorial election which occurred on July 28, that same year.
Prevail, in a statement by Adeoye Emmanuel, his Personal Assistant, congratulated His Excellency for being a history maker.
While acknowledging the political prowess of the newly sworn-in governor, the journalist expressed confidence that the Senator will deliver on his campaign promises, noting that the ‘New Edo’ is already dawning.
“Senator Monday Okpebholo’s inauguration as the executive governor of Edo State has entered the annah of history. He has particularly modified the course of history and become an icon of history himself.
“On behalf of the management and staff of Spark News, and the entire Edolites, I wholeheartedly expressed my profound congratulations to His Excellency. We are proud of this remarkable feat”, he said.
