2024 budget ‘ll address Nigerians problems, sets 30 days for passage – Hon. Billy Osawaru 

The lawmaker representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency OF Edo State, Hon. Dr.  Billy Osawaru has assured Nigerians that the 2024 budget of N27.5 trillion will be passed before the end of December, 2023.

Hon. Osawaru, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who spoke with journalists at the National Assembly, immediately after the presentation of the 2024 Appropriation by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, also gave the assurance that the 2024 Budget will address Nigerian problems

 

“It’s a renewed hope budget like the President stated, and You can see that most of the challenges we are going through now this budget is actually going to address them.

 

“And with the robust relationship we have built with the executive arm, it is going to help,” he said.

 

The lawmaker maintained that President Tinubu was very intentional and meticulous as he ensured the budgets touches on all the critical sectors in Nigeria.

 

“Looking at the macro policies, the insecurity situation we can see that the President actually touched on every aspect of all the challenges that are currently bugging the nation right now.

 

“We are going to make sure we give these critical sectors utmost priority. Remember the president said that by 1st of January 2024 we should hit the ground running; we are going to work nonstop on the budget within the next 30days.

 

“We are hardworking people, and we have good work ethics, as we leave here today we shall be breaking into committees to start work immediately.”

 

The Benin high chief described the 10th National Assembly as “most colourful, eight different political parties and we know how  we all came here.” He said that “Our primary goal is to make sure that 95% of the budget is implemented by the end of the year 2024”.
