2025 UTME: It’s Tinubu’s big vision to cater for impaired candidates – Minister
The Honourable Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, on Tuesday said it is President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s big vision to create an opportunity for every citizen, including the physically impaired to have access to education in Nigeria.

The Minister of State who stated this while monitoring the 2025 UTME at the Open University of Nigeria in Abuja said the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had adopted Mr President’s inclusive policy by creating an enabling environment for the physically impaired citizens to participate in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to her, the essence is to ensure that candidates with disabilities have access to education.
Dr. Suwaiba said the government has ensured that the physically impaired candidates seat for the 2025 UTME at no cost.
While commending JAMB for the improved conduct of the 2025 UTME, the Minister pledged the Ministry’s support to the Board in ensuring that the disabled citizens participate in the UTME.
She said JAMB has 11 centers for people with disabilities across the country, saying the candidates are accommodated for the exams at no cost to their parents – their transportations, hotels, even the people that will accompany them to the centres are catered for.
In his remarks, JAMB Registrar, Professor Is’haq Oloyede said inclusivity is a feature of a just society.
While acknowledging that it cost a fortune to conduct UTME for the disabled, Prof. Oloyede said it’s justified because there’s the need for every segment of the society to appreciate they are worthy members of the society.
