Ganduje welcomes AMAC Chairman, scores of PDP, LP members into APC
In what can described as a major shake-up for the opposition parties, The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Thursday formally received the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zakka Maikalangu into the Party.

The APC National Chairman, accompanied by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), received the AMAC Chairman, alongside his councillors and thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) members across the six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking during a rally held at the Old Parade Ground, in Abuja, Maikalangu said he joined the ruling party in order to continue delivering dividends of democracy to AMAC residents.
“Today marks a defining moment in my political journey.
“I stand before you not just as your chairman, but as your servant-leader who remains committed to the progress, peace, and prosperity of our great AMAC.
“After careful consultations with stakeholders, community leaders, youths and women groups, and the good people of AMAC, I have made the decision to officially join the All Progressives Congress (APC), ” he said.
According to him, the move to join APC was not about personal ambition, but about aligning the area council with the center of power so as to unlock greater opportunities for the people.
“It is about ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every corner of our communities. From Nyanya to Karshi, from Karu to Jikwoyi, from Garki to Wuse,”, AMAC Chairman added.
Dr. Ganduje ascribed the massive defection to APC to the good works of President Tinubu in all the six FCT area councils.
While urging AMAC residents to continue supporting the council’s chairman, Ganduje said that Maikalangu took the best decision by joining the ruling party,
Spark News Daily reports that the venue of the rally (Old Parade Ground) was extremely crowded with APC’s new entrants.
