Opposition Parties: Presidential candidates rally for appointment in Tinubu’s administration
The presidential candidates of the opposition political parties in the 2023 general elections has called on presidential Bola Tinubu to include them in the APC-led government.
They, under the aiges of Forum of Concerned Presidential Candidates, made the call during a courtesy visit to Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC in the party’s secretariat on Thursday in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum, Amb. Felix Osakwe said the government of inclusion is necessary to give them the chance to support the government.
“We are men of peace and we have been talking among ourselves. One way forward is for us to support this government, and that has been our discussion. We have met several times and at a point we find it fit that this government should be a government of inclusion whereby some other presidential candidates who believe in Nigeria, who believe in our democracy should be part of this government.
Amb. Osakwe who was the presidential candidate of National Rescue Movement NRM, said he believe many of the presidential candidates of the opposition parties have a lot they can contribute to this government
“Our manifesto have said it all. If you go through it, you’ll see that we have quality ideas that can move our nation forward. We chose not to go to court, this is Nigeria and have no other country to go.
“So, we are here to thank you, and to say there is something we can offer to this country. And I believe the government of inclusion will be necessary”, he stated.
The Forum, however requested to meet with presidential Tinubu, and a slot in APC campaign council for the governorship elections in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa states as they are ready to mobilise their party’s members to vote for APC come November 11.
In response, Dr. Ganduje, while thanking them, said he will convey their message to the President.
“Thank you for this visit. I will convey your views and requests. I assure you, that you’ll see Mr President eye to eye. No doubt, we will include you in the three states that we are having elections come November this year.
