Rivers govt offers N100m reward for the arrest of cultists who killed DPO

The governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced a N100,000,000 reward for anyone with useful information leading to the arrest and prosecution of cult leader and gang members who killed a Divisional Police Officer in Rivers State.

Fubara also ordered the indefinite suspension of a monarch in relation to the “gruesome murder” of the Ahoada DPO, SP Bako Angbashim.

It was earlier reported that Bako was killed in the Odiemudie Community in the Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA) of the state during a shootout with some cultists in the area.

In a statement he personally signed, the governor expressed sadness over the killing of the police officer. Governor Fubara noted that the prime suspects, identified as “Mr. Gift David Okpara Okpolowu (a.k.a. 2-Baba) and all members of his criminal gang”, have been declared wanted. He also announced a N100,000,000 reward for anyone with useful information leading to Okpolowu’s arrest and prosecution.

He added that His Majesty, Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi Eze Igbu Akoh II, is suspended indefinitely for acts of complicity in ceding control of his territory to David Gift and his gang to freely operate and carry out their criminal activities.”
