He also stressed the importance of reducing the high electricity tariff, which he believes would serve as an encouragement to manufacturers.
Key demands by Chief Emeka Egwuekwe, include, providing incentives for local manufacturers; providing financial incentives to support the growth of local industries; patronizing local products, by encouraging government agencies to prioritize the purchase of locally manufactured goods.
Others are in the areas of tax incentives, by offering tax breaks to local manufacturers to reduce their financial burden; supporting local industries, by providing necessary support to enable local manufacturers to continue contributing to the economy; reducing electricity tariff, by lowering the high electricity tariff to make it more affordable for manufacturers.
By supporting local manufacturers, he went on, the government can help stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities, and reduce the country’s reliance on foreign goods.
