Anambra Guber: APC candidate faults claims of Tinubu’s support for Soludo
Hon. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the November 8th governorship election in Anambra State, has dismissed claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in full support of Gov Charles Soludo’s re-election.

According to Hon. Ukachukwu, such claims are lies, saying that as a party man, the President will always support his own party to win in any election.
Hon. Ukachukwu stated this on Wednesday at the APC’s National Secretariat in Abuja after receiving his Certificate of Return having emerged winner of the Party’s primaries conducted last Saturday, 5th April, 2025.
When pressed by journalists on the rumour making the rounds that Gov Soludo is having the full support of President Tinubu, the APC candidate said, “Those are lies! Wherever such talks are coming from…how can a President who always supports his party to win go and then say I will support somebody else instead?
“If APGA is sellable without the centre, why are they relying on the centre? This is the first time Soludo is bringing himself for election as a person. We will determine whether he is popular or not”.
While expressing optimism that he will defeat Governor Soludo come November 8, the ex-lawmaker noted that his opponent does not have the level of acceptability with the electorates to actualise his second term aspiration.
In his words, he said, “We are determined to get the best that can take Anambra state for the APC. Anambra needs to be connected to the centre for things to flow.
“Anambra state cannot be one party state any longer. We need to come to the centre to know what’s going on, so that our voices can be heard when decisions are being taken. Anambra is the heartbeat of the Igbo nation and cannot remain a one party state because of selfish reasons.”
Hon. Ukachukwu expressed gratitude to Tinubu and the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee (NWC) for ensuring a level playing ground at the party primaries.
Meanwhile, APC on Wednesday considered and approved the report of the Party’s primary election committee.
The committee, under the chairmanship of Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Bassey Otu, in its report, declared Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu the winner of the election with 1,455 votes.
The consideration and approval was sequel to the presentation of Certificate of Return to the Party’s flag bearer, Hon. Ukachukwu.
Spark News Daily reports that the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Ganduje charged all stakeholders, particularly the other aspirants and their supporters to work for the Party’s victory in the November 8, 2025 Anambra state gubernatorial election.
