Spark News recalls that the said primary election which was held in Benin City, the state capital has generated a lot of controversies with the chairman of the election committee, governor Hope Uzodinma declaring Hon. Dennis Idahosa as the winner, while the state returning officer, Ugboaja Stanley, announced Senator Monday Okpebholo as the winner.
The crisis became compounded when the Edo North billionaire, Hon. Amanero Dekeri, in tacit consent with some party members, declared himself the winner of the primary.
Meanwhile, the National leadership of APC has disclaimed unauthorised announcement of Edo State governorship primary election results, stressing that only the Governor Hope Uzodinma-Led primary election committee is duly authorized to undertake final collation and announcement of results.
However, in a telephone chat with journalists on Monday, Mr Tenebe said the winner of the party’s primary will be announced in the next few days.
”The party conducted the primary and somebody emerged. So, within the next few days, you people will know who won the primary”.
