APC receives Ex-Minister Mike Onolememen, others after dumping PDP
All Progressives Congress APC, in Edo Central Senatorial District, has formally received the former Minister of Works in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Architect Mike Onolememe, and Engineer Gideon Ikhine into the party.
Spark News recalls that Architect Onolememen, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo State, had dumped the party in September after tendering his resignation letter.
Today November 4th, 2023, the Edo Central Senatorial leader of the APC, General Cecil Esekhaigbe, led other notable leaders and members of the party who received the former minister, Ikhine and the representatives of their vast followers across the senatorial district at a reception in Uromi Town Hall.
Senator Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza, Prince (Hon) Odianosen Okojie, Rt. Hon. Patrick ikhariale, Hon. Theo Okoh, Lady Betty Okoebor-Benson, Rt Hon Festus Ebea, Rt. Hon Thomas Okosun, Rt Hon. Justin Okonoboh, Rt Hon. Bright Omokhodion, Hon. Chris Ebare, Hon. Sam Oboh, Elder Sam Eboigbe, Prince William Shaka-Momodu, Hon. Victor Ebiogbe, Hon. Larry Aghedo, Hon. Aslem Adima, Hon. Sylvernus Igbogbo, Hon. Isibor Addeh, Hon. Alex Ojagba, CP Isiwele, Hon. Bello Oyaziwolo, Elder Godday Obanoike, Hon. Emmanuel Ibhagbemien, Chief Okhuolegbe Christopher, Hon. Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, Hon. Esther Egheghe, Hon Henshaw Oligbi and many others were among the party leaders present at the reception.
In his address, Onolememen in a joyous mood thanked the leadership of APC in Edo Central Senatorial District for building a strong, united and disciplined party in Esanland, adding that, his decision to join the party was borne out of his genuine desire to develop Esanland.
He promised to support the leadership of the party and abide by its decision towards moving Esanland forward.
In his speech, Engineer Ikhine saluted the doggedness and pragmatism of the senatorial leadership of APC under the able leadership of General Cecil Esekhaigbe, Rtd, PhD, which according to him has transformed the party into a formidable political party in Esanland.
He noted that himself and his vast followers have come to join strength with the strength of APC members to produce Edo Governor of Esan extraction come 2024. He further re-ecohed that, it was time for an Esan man to occupy Osadebe Avenue.
Responding on behalf of the Edo Central leadership of APC, the senatorial leader, General Cecil Esekhaigbe, Rtd, PhD, commended Architect Onolememen and Engineer Ikhine for their bold and courageous decisions to formally join the APC. He therefore pronounced them as automatic leaders of APC by the virtue of the political leadership positions they’ve occupied in the past.
The people’s General assured them of equal treatment, opportunity, mutual respect, and regard under his leadership in the senatorial district.
Highlight of the reception was the senatorial leader’s presentation of the symbol of APC to Ex-Minister Onolememe and Engineer Ikhine.
