Auke Community Pays “Thank You” Visit To Hon. Ojema, Presents him Outstanding/ Transformational Leadership Award

A high-powered delegation from Auke Community in Apa LGA of Benue State, under the auspices of Auke National Development Association (ANDA), on Friday, March 21st, 2025, paid a "Thank-You" visit to the Member representing Apa/Agatu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on National Inland Waterways, Chief. Hon. Pst Ojotu Ojema FESMI, at his National Assembly Office, to appreciate him for what he has done for their community.

The Association also presented to the Performing and Award-winning Federal Lawmaker, an Outstanding and Transformational Leadership Award during the visit.

Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the Association, Mr Negedu Lawrence, thanked Chief Ojema for always considering their community in the scheme of things.

“Apart from giving our children Scholarship, paying Tuition fees of our exceptional children, empowering our women, youth, you are also installing Solar Integrated Street Lights across our community. The biggest of it all, is the water projects you are executing. This will finally put to an end, the perennial water scarcity which our people had experienced for donkey years.

“In politics, most political office holders will always promise heaven on earth but will renegade on their promises but you are completely different. You don’t promise but will always take people by surprise with people oriented and gigantic protects that will help communities and stand a test of time, our case is an example”.

“Since you have chosen to carry our community along, we shall continue to follow you and will never let you down”, Mr Negedu said

Similarly, Hon William Ngbede Umoru, the Vice Chairman of ANDA, who couldn’t hide his Joy and admiration for Ojema said, the Lawmaker has so far demonstrated clearly that the people of Apa/Agatu finally got it right with his election victory, saying the people of Auke community are so happy with him and would continue to give their unwavering support.

“We briefed our Traditional Ruler about our visit to your office and he sent us to also appreciate you on behalf of the entire community. You truly know our problem, the water project you have executed and the one are executing in our community are masterstrokes and have really brought smiles on the faces of our people and you will continue to receive their unalloyed support. Like Oliver Twist, we shall continue to ask for more, especially the rehabilitation of the roads linking our community”, Ngbede submitted

While presenting the Outstanding and Transformational Leadership Award to the Aboh-OcheK’Idoma on behalf of the group, Mr Omale Matthew said, this is the first time Auke community is feeling the positive impacts from the National Assembly, saying the community has benefited immensely from Ojema’s unmatched leadership and saw the need to reciprocate the kind gesture, congratulating for the well deserved award.

“This Award is for your unparalleled leadership which is unprecedented in the history of our Federal Constituency. You will continue to have the total support of our people”, Omale concluded.

Cletus Ogbole, Enogela Manasseh, Ejelikwu Emmanuel and Comr Mark Uloko who were also part of the delegation, paid glowing tribute and showered encomium on Chief Ojema for his impactful leadership on Auke ward and all the other 20 Council Wards in the Federal Constituency.

Responding, the Federal Legislator thanked the group for the visit and show of gratitude, describing the visit as symbolic and historical as it is the first of its kind by the National Association of an entire community.

“Let me first of all thank God for a day like this. On Thursday was one of our most hectic days at the National Assembly. I am happy that we have finally met. Your visit is not only timely but also symbolic and historical.

“Thank you for appreciating the little I have done for your community. Not every community that can come and appreciate you after doing much for them. I have heard your other requests. I will look at them. My Principle is that I don’t usually promise but I will continue to do my best across the 21 Council Wards of the Federal Constituency”, Chief Ojema said.
