Spark News Daily reports that the MoU aims to enhance diplomatic ties, deepen cooperation, and foster greater collaboration between the two nations.
The Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, signed the MoU in Abuja on Monday March 17.
The MoU was the culmination of discussions between the two ministers, who acknowledged the historical and cultural connections between both countries.
“These connections date back to the pre-colonial era, with shared cultural influences from the Yoruba and Itsekiri ethnic groups which remain prominent in Cuba’s traditions, music, and religious practices”, Tuggar stated.
Parrilla, reaffirmed Cuba’s strong bond with Africa, especially Nigeria, and acknowledged the African heritage in Cuban society.
