The Speaker, Rt Hon Tajudeen Abbas made the announcement on Thursday 27th July, 2023 during the plenary session of the House when he constituted the much-awaited House standing committees.
Admittedly, this announcement afforded Hon. Billy Osawaru another opportunity to make an impact on this very challenging problem plaguing the Nation.
It has been said that Nigeria is facing a multi-dimensional poverty in which more persons are drifting into the poverty zone. This calls for out-of-the-box thinking and approach to alleviating and changing the tide of this depressing reality.
Interestingly, poverty alleviation and Human empowerment formed part of Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Osawaru’s campaign promises. Getting this Vice Chairmanship position on poverty alleviation is indeed, a confluence of genuine intent and opportunity which will translate into results.
So far, Hon. Billy Osawaru has showed that he is in the House of Reps to make a difference as evident in the numbers of motions he has moved in the House coupled with a proposed bill that has passed through first reading just within a space of two months.
It is expected that the respected Benin Chief will sustain this zeal and passion for the good of his constituents and the Nation at large. This is wishing him all the best as he continue to positively represent his people.
