How I won penalty for Super Eagles against Guinea-Bissau – Bright

Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel has reflected on his performance in the Super Eagles’ hard-fought 1-0 victory against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau on Monday.

The 25-year-old churned out an impressive performance against Baciro Cande’s side in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounters.

Osayi-Samuel won the penalty that was converted by Moses Simon for the Super Eagles’ only goal of the game.

“When I got the ball, I saw there was space and moved into the box. In our trainings the coach always want me to attack and defend as well,” Osayi-Samuel told NFF TV.

“When I got the ball, I saw it as an opportunity for me to attack. My initial plan was to dribble past the defender, but he brought me down.

“Like I said I tried to give my best to the team and I’m happy that we won.”

Osayi-Samuel has made three appearances for the three-time African champions since making his debut against Portugal last year.
