I will never take you for granted, Edo South senator-elect promise supporters

The senator-elect for Edo South senatorial district, Neda Imasuen, has expressed appreciation to the people of Edo South, both at home and in the diaspora for their support, which culminated in the victory he recorded in the February 25 National Assembly elections.

Imasuen, who was at the Internally Displaced Peoples (IDP) camp, Ogua, as part of his thank you visits to the electorate, residents and the Benin people for their support at the election, said: “I will never take your support for granted.

“My election is a reflection of your confidence in my capabilities to represent you at that high level of legislative assignment which I can never take for granted.”

Accompanied by the House of Representatives-elect, Oredo federal constituency, as well as other Labour Party candidates in the last election, party chieftains, Chief Patrick Eholor and Labour Party’s State Secretary and candidates of the party at the forth coming House of Assembly election told Nigerians at the IDP camp that “I share in your feelings as Nigerians who are now displaced in their fatherland. Ordinarily, if there was a responsible government in Nigeria, we should not be going through this hardship.

“Nigeria’s situation became terribly bad that we had to take our destiny in our hands to rescue the country from the claws of bad leadership. That is why we are all, as a people supporting Mr Peter Obi and the Labour Party for the real change.

“I am here to assure you that we will not be frustrated with the result of the presidential election declared by INEC; rather we have resolved as a people to compile what we have started. Our president will get our mandate back but we have to complete the assignment by voting for Labour Party candidates in the Edo State House of Assembly election.”

Other Labour Party leaders and candidates in the Saturday’s House of Assembly election in their respective comments called on all Nigerians at the camp and across the state to keep voting for the Labour Party.

While receiving the visiting senator-elect and his team, who came with lots of gifts and supportive materials, the coordinator of IDP camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, thanked the visitors for finding time to visit the camp.

“We appreciate your coming to see us. Your visit is an indication that you value God and your fellow human beings in this camp. “We pray for you all that God will stand-in-gap for you always,” Folorunsho said.
