... This year's exercise will be remembered as the most successful in recent times - Registrar

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday formally released the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

The statistical analysis of the results shows that out of 1,951, 811 results released, 4,756 candidates scored 320 and above; 7,658 candidates had 300 – 319 marks; 7,341 candidates got 250 – 299 scores, while 334,560 candidates scored 200 – 249.

In that order, the statistics revealed that 2,031 candidates scored below 100.

Speaking at a press conference to formally unveil the results, held at the JAMB National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, the Registrar Prof. Is’haq Oloyede noted that the 2025 UTME exercise will be remembered as one of the most successful in recent times.

Prof. Oloyede said out of 2, 030, 862 candidates that registered for the 2025 UTME, 1,957,000 were successfully verified for the exam, 71,705 were absent while 2,157 candidates’ fingerprints were rejected by the machines as invalid.

The Registrar stated that subsequent discoveries revealed that candidates whose fingers were unrecognised had one question of registration infraction or another to answer, noting that each of these cases will be reviewed and determined on merit.

For the underage candidates, he said 41,027 registered, while 40,260 sat for the examination, adding that their results are being isolated for further tests.

“Consequently, results for 1,911,551 candidates have been released which makes the available results to be 1,951, 811”.

Prof. Oloyede added that a total number of 39,834 results remained unreleased, while 1,426 results are under scrutiny and processing.

The JAMB boss reiterated the Board’s commitment to eliminating any form of examination malpractice, saying 80 suspects are being interrogated by the Police for their involvement in examination malpractices.
