LearnChrist Bible Study. [Topic]: Is Heaven Possible without Godly Character?

We began by looking at what gives eternal life and access to God's kingdom. We established from the scripture clearly that faith in Christ Jesus is what does - John 3:16; 5:24; 6:47; Gal 2:16; 3:26; Eph 2:8.

However, the question now is; if we say we have faith in Jesus, yet we are not demonstrating His attributes in our daily living; what becomes of our faith? To answer this all-important question, let’s consider these biblical facts:

1. Matt 7:21-23. Jesus said, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father…” And when they probe why and recounted the wonder they did by His name; Jesus answered, “I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

2. Galatians 5:19-21. Here, apostle Paul was admonishing a group of believers in Galatia – Blood-bath, spirit-filled and tongue-speaking believers; he said if the works of the flesh is made manifest in you “I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

3. Ephesians 5:3-5. Once again, apostle Paul was speaking to the believers (not unbelievers) in Ephesus, he said, “But fornication and all uncleanness…let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints…for this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person…hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” Read: 1Tim 1:19; Titus 1:16; 1John 2:4; Rev 14:12.

From the above scriptures, we concluded that a person may loose his place in God’s kingdom on the ground of lack of godly characters, hence as believers God expects us to demonstrate them in our daily living.

PLS Ponder On The Following Below:
(*) A person’s faith in Jesus maybe made void by the works of iniquity, Matt 7:23; Gal 5:19-20.

(*) Once saved is not forever saved. Walk out your salvation; avoid any form of ungodliness and walk in the fear of God! Phil 2:12; 2Cor 7:1, Rom 13:11-14.

(*)The purpose of grace is not only for us to be saved, but to also manifest the character of God here on earth, Matt 5:16. Eph 5:8.

(*) Don’t wait until the last minute before receiving Jesus, ( in case you are considering the thief on the cross, Luke 23:40-43). You may not have that chance. Accept Jesus now and demonstrate His characters in your daily living.

God bless you richly, Rest!
