Makinde is one step into second term, clears 17 councils

Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde has won in 17 out of the 18 local governments announced so far by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Governor, who is seeking re-election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is up against a three-term Senator, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Chief Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party.

The Residents Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, Dr Tella Adeniran announced one hour break before resumption of result announcement.
