Max George speaks on his shock ‘engagement’ to Maisie Smith
Max George has opened up on his spur-of-the-moment 'engagement' to Maisie Smith.
The Wanted singer, 34, left his girlfriend, 21, totally stunned back in April, when he publicly ‘proposed’ while filming ITV’s The Chase Celebrity Special.
And, in an upcoming clip from Thursday’s instalment of Iain Stirling’s CelebAbility, obtained exclusively by MailOnline, Max recalled almost proposing.
The pop star admitted he’s glad his proposal to actress Maisie wasn’t real, as he revealed her true off-camera reaction.
Max confessed that while his girlfriend feigned being excited and emotional at the sight of her partner getting down on one knee, in reality she was not impressed.
ain said: ‘The last time you were on a game show, you proposed to your girlfriend Maisie. Why did you do that? I thought it was real. You were on The Chase?’
Max admitted: ‘Yeh, right… It was a spur-of-the-moment thing. And, it was a joke, so…’
