MAY: Month of Honour and Glory, part 1 – Pastor Akoh Ferdinand
"For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour." Psalm:8:5.
I have for a time been privileged to read books on the subject of Honour and Glory and for the most I came across, have treated this subject separately this left me unsatisfied though inspired. we have sometime narrowed honour and glory to be like it depends on what and how much we have other than what we become.
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians:3:18. I will use three illustrations to communicate not just why it shouldn’t be deal with separately but also inspire us with kingdom truths about this subject.
1. Image and likeness. Honour and Glory is liken to the image and likeness of God. This was what God crown Adam with. And God said lets make man in our image and likeness, this was crowning man with honour and Glory, it truely was honour and glory. No doubt when they disobeyed these were the two things they lost, luckily for them it was honour and glory taken not the breath that made them a living souls. they were naked, a proof they had lost the image, call it honour, beloved a man naked is in dishonour talk less of reflecting Glory.
Honour determines glory, image is living like, and likeness is looking like. We must live like Him to look like Him, this is the mystery of Image and likeness, call it the crown of Honour and Glory. This was what the demon posses man in the city of the garderenes saw, He saw honour and Glory, then He cried out, Have you come to judge me before my time? this was also what the sons of sceva were ignorant of, Honour and Glory no doubt demons trashed sense into them. They didn’t live like the christ, so couldn’t look like christ. While in Acts 4:13, it says and they took note that they had been with Christ. Until we live like Him we can’t look like Him.
I declare Grace to live and look like Christ by the help of the Holy spirit.
