As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Anniversary, Apostle Itodje Okiemute Godstime, Senior Pastor of Pavilion Of Worship Assemblies, prayed and asked God to intervene in Nigeria’s situation.
Apostle Itodje made this statement on Tuesday in Abuja, stressing that the country’s present economic and political situation urgently needs divine intervention.
He expressed doubts whether this is the Nigeria envisioned by the nation’s forefathers, who fought vigorously and tirelessly for independence.
Despite being richly blessed with natural resources, Nigeria remains underdeveloped due to poor leadership and citizens’ negative attitudes toward national interests.
Apostle Itodje lamented the high rate of bribery and corruption, calling it inhumane from unpatriotic citizens. “Although we are known as religious people, wickedness is alarmingly prevalent among us,” he stated.
He urged religious leaders to pray for Nigeria’s unity and development, using their platforms to preach sound doctrine.
“I pray that God Almighty will intervene in Nigeria’s situation and grant our leaders the wisdom to lead this country to enviable heights, in the name of Jesus Christ. Happy 64th Independence Anniversary to all Nigerians. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Apostle Itodje stated.
