The Spokesperson, Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, made this known in a statement on Sunday 29th June, 2025.
According to him, Amb. Janet Olisa, Director, Regions, led the Nigerian delegation, while the Swiss delegation was led by Amb. Philipp Stalder Director for Africa, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Foreign Ministry.
Spark News Daily recalls that Nigeria and Switzerland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 8, 2016, regarding the establishment of an annual process of Nigeria-Switzerland Bilateral Consultations at the diplomatic level.
Ebienfa said, “This is a useful mechanism to strengthen relations between the two countries.
“Since then, the platform has become a viable medium for increased engagements and collaboration on bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest between the two friendly countries”.
He said the just-concluded consultations considered a wide range of issues such as trade and investment, legal cooperation, peace, security and humanitarian matters amongst others.
