
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke, ably represented during a courtesy visit to the Commander of the South-South Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), at its headquarters in Igbogene, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The NOSDRA delegation, led by the Field Head, Engr. Ukpenevi Solomon, was warmly received by the Commander, Rear Admiral N. M. Madugu, alongside senior military officers and representatives of various paramilitary organizations attached to the Joint Task Force.
The meeting was also attended by officers of the Nigerian Air Force and staff of NOSDRA’s Zonal Office, who participated in the discussions and shared insights on strengthening joint operational efforts.
The interactive session provided a valuable platform for both parties to discuss and reaffirm their commitment to inter-agency collaboration in addressing environmental challenges associated with oil exploration and production in the Niger Delta region.
The Key deliberations focused on improving joint operational strategies, intelligence sharing, and coordinated response mechanisms aimed at ensuring timely and effective management of oil spill incidents.
At the end of the meeting, a group photograph was taken to commemorate the visit, symbolizing the renewed partnership and shared commitment to safeguarding the environment and promoting sustainable development in the region.
