‘ON A JOURNEY’ – Pastor Becky Prevail
Peter, an Apostle of Jesus Christ writes, "Dearly beloved, I beseech you, as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul."- 1Peter 2:11.

This implies that, every human in existence is on a journey and the earth is the pathway to our destination. Then he says, while you journey through, do not be excessively concern with the things of the world.
The scripture further affirms this in 1John 2:15 when it says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world…” The phrase, “love not the world” simply means, “do not be obsessed with riches, fame or affluence of this world. If indeed we are dead and risen with Christ, we are to set our affection on the things above, not on the things on the earth.
But do we need riches, fame, affluence etc? Yes, we do! Are we against them? No, we are not! But we must know where to draw the line. These things are not to be our utmost concern, rather eternity with Christ. Why? Because we are pilgrims on a journey – the mundane things shall pass away. A sojourner who is concern with the things of the world, will not get to the right destination.
I prayer for you, you will finish right in Jesus name. #LearnChrist
