Senator Barau Hails Tinubu for Signing North West Development Commission Bill

…Urges Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu 

The Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the North West Development Commission (NWDC) Bill into law.

The NWDC bill, which was sponsored by Senator Barau, got presidential assent on Tuesday 23rd, 2024.

The elated Senator could not hide his joy as he eulogised President Tinubu for assenting to the bill without delay.

In what could be described as a joyous moment with journalists on the night in his office, the deputy Senate president said with the assent to the bill, the coast is now clear for the rebuilding of the zone.

Senator Barau, representing Kano North, stated that the Commission would help to drive infrastructural  development across the seven states in the geopolitical zone.

According to him, stakeholders in the zone would work together to make the commission serve the purpose for which it was created.

“President Tinubu has no doubt shown that he loves the people and in the light of this, I commend him for signing the North West Development Commission Bill into law today”.

”The Commission will assist in the development of the zone in terms of required infrastructure, as well as food production.

“Today is one of the happiest days of my life because I sponsored the bill, and prayed that this commission should be established so as to help in the development of the zone.

”With the assent to the bill, the coast is now clear for the rebuilding of the zone”, he said.

He, however, called on the teeming Nigerians to exercise patience and support President Tinubu in his quest to rebuild our country.

“Let us continue to pray for our country and Mr President, let’s give him all the support and be patient with him; it’s not easy rebuilding the country”. Senator Barau advised.
