Singer Portable says planned protest is for poor Nigerians
The planned nationwide protest is for poor Nigerians, controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has said.
Spark News Daily reports that Nigerians are gearing up to hit the street in a nationwide protest against ‘Bad Governance’, slated for August 1 to August 10, 2024.
In a now trending video on social media, Portable said he decided to participate in the 2020 #EndSARS protest because he was poor, adding that people like Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola do not participate in protests.
“They said that I joined the protest in 2020. It was then, poor thinking! Now that I have money, I am thinking like a wealthy person.
“Have you ever seen Otedola and Dangote protesting? You won’t see people like Dele Momodu. Better mind your business! I didn’t have money back then. I’m now thinking like a rich man”, he said.
It would be recalled that Portable had earlier announced that he won’t be joining the protest because he is financially comfortable.
The controversial singer rose to stardom in 2021, following his hit single ‘Zazoo Zeh’, featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.
