
The Special Road Traffic Mayors Association of Nigeria (SRTMAN) on Friday announced that it has been registered and incorporated as a legal entity, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to improve road traffic safety and reduce traffic-related fatalities.
The group Interim Publicity Secretary, Amb. Fidelis Nnadi in a statement explained that the Special Road Traffic Mayors Association of Nigeria is a non-governmental organization comprising responsible personalities at all levels from and across the country.
“Our mission is to promote and compliment efforts in road traffic safety, enhance traffic management, and improve the overall quality of life for road traffic safety officers in Nigerians and globally.
He disclosed that the objectives of the group include; to enhance road traffic safety; reduce traffic-related fatalities and injuries through effective road safety measures.
Others are; to improve traffic management; develop and to encourage the implementation of efficient traffic management systems to reduce congestion and promote smooth traffic flow.
He further disclosed that the group would promote public awareness, educate the public on road traffic safety and traffic management best practices.
On membership and participation, Amb. Nnadi stated that “we invite those passionate in road traffic safety and other stakeholders to identify and participate in our efforts to improve road traffic safety and traffic management in Nigeria.
“The date for the inauguration ceremony will be announced after the Board of Trustees meeting later in the year.
He urged Nigerians to join the movement;” “together, we can make a difference and create safer roads for all Nigerians.
“Join us in our mission to enhance road safety and improve traffic management in Nigeria,” he concluded.
