‘There is no romance without finance’ – Pastor Emmanuel Olumide
The General Overseer of Calvary Bible Church, Pastor Emmanuel Olumide, has reminded Christians, particularly men that finance is required to have good life and a happy family.
Speaking during today’s service as posted by Heavenly Mandate, the anointed servant of God said there is no romance without finance.
The Bible Scholar with over 25 years experience in ministry, said when the responsibility of life comes calling, ‘you need funds to fund the fun’.
“I got born again as a teenager, went into the ministry as a teenager, by the age of 21 I was already ordained as a pastor and I was already doing ministry and then in 1997, I got married, I made one of the greatest mistakes of my life.
“Now, the marriage was not the mistake but getting married as a poor man was the mistake. I fell into the trap of I love you the way you’re and I suddenly realize that I love you the way you are does not mean I love you to remain the way you’re.
“I love you the way you’re is a statement of Faith, if I suffer with this guy for 3-5 years, his story should change but if after 3-5 years your life refuses to change, the story will change.
“I realize that I love you the way you’re is not the solution because there is no romance without finance.
“I had to learn by experience. 1998, I impregnated my wife, mistake number 2, a poor man impregnating a woman. Then I realized that when the responsibility of life hits you, you need funds to fund the fun and then in my frustration I had gone into deep depression, this happened in 1998.
“You don’t know what it means for you to be a father that cannot pay rent, you don’t know what it means for you to see the pregnancy rising and your frustration is rising because there is no money anywhere.
“The problem was not that there was no money, the problem was that even though I needed money there was nobody who could help. In my frustration I cried out to God, I said God I’m tired, I have served you all my life, God this is not the way it is supposed to be, this is not what your Word said. Right there God asked me, are you ready to be free? I said yes and God took me on a journey.
“One of things that God began to help me understand is that many of the things that we believe in the Church, we believe based on what somebody said, not based on what we have discovered in God, it is what the pastor or bishop said and that was a problem for me” he stated.
